Emergency Air Evacuation & Repatriation
Emergency Medical Air Evacuation is one of the most important benefits included as part of any multinational benefit plan. Many group health plans do not adequately pay for Medical Evacuations if you are out of network, traveling or on assignment abroad, and virtually none of them will make the necessary arrangements to coordinate and pay for the actual evacuation.
Emergency Medical Air Evacuation is necessary for critical medical conditions that need immediate attention or transportation from the point of injury (whether it’s a remote location or away from a densely populated area) to an adequate medical facility. That’s why it’s so important to have a policy that responds immediately to these types of emergency situations. Communication and coordination between the insured, medical team, medical facility, employer (if necessary) and the assistance company are critical to the success of any Emergency Medical Evacuation or Repatriation scenario.
